Distant Shore Fighter Practices Restart

WHERE: Victoria Park, Truro, NS WHEN: Every Wednesday 6pm-dark

MIC: Baron Perceval Gower, OP

Distant Shore has restarted Fighter Practices, every Wednesday 6pm – until Dark, in Truro’s Victoria Park by the Amphitheater. Lots of space to sit and watch, but bring a chair or blanket to sit on. We will be asking everyone wear their masks when not fighting and please maintain social distancing as per NS Health regulations. There will be the standard forms such as waivers for non-members and we will be taking names for a Covid tracing record. Please remember to bring your blue membership card, and your fighter card.

Marshall In Charge is Baron Perceval Gower:

“There shall be no loaning or swapping gear and the new inspection protocol is in place I can show the marshals and fighters that are unfamiliar. no sharing of food or water, there will be a sign in sheet that the Baroness shall ask for your name and contact info for contact tracing and masks shall be worn if you do not have a helmet on your head. Its gonna be fun BUT if there is any reason you cannot or will not follow these rules then don’t come.”

Our Baroness Admiranda sees this as an excellent recruiting opportunity, and is encouraging anyone out of armour to wear garb

So come out and join the Canton of Distant Shore, bring your own water/Gatorade supply and be prepared to have fun!

Fighter Training and A&S Day – Rattan AND Rapier

Our first practice, Sunday 16 February 2020 from 1pm – 4pm, now has the offer of a Rapier Marshal as HL Barnabus O’ Phelylan of Avonmore has offered up his time to allow our baroness to train. Hooray!

The site is open at 1pm, please bring indoor shoes if the weather is wet, as our own Balen Malinovski will be leading the clean up team at the end of practice.

Safe travels and see you mid February!

New Monthly Rattan Fighter Practice

Recently, through the suggestion, and assist, of m’lord Balen Malinovski, we have been able to obtain permission to use a local school gymnasium to hold month Fighter Practices. Our first practice will be held Sunday 16 February 2020 from 1pm – 4pm

The gymnasium at the school in Great Village is a very large space. There is plenty of room, as well as tables available, so that you could bring your projects to work on. We hope that you will come out share what you are making!

Thrown Weapons Practice – 24 November 2019

We are going to try to get in at least one more practice before the snow covers the field and the temps drive us all to indoor activities.

Come out for an afternoon of practice with you knives, axes and spears, join in the Royal Rounds and (if time allows) I have a new novelty throw planned.

Remember that snow makes it really hard to find weapons so this will be weather dependant. Weather willing, I hope to see lots of folks out for one more afternoon of throwing!
